Hi all
It has been another eventful week for Bromsgrove PS. The results are in from Midphot and Southport National Open Exhibition. Many members had numerous acceptances and we even picked up a couple of awards along the way – including a Gold Medal for Julie Hall. The results have been posted on our Facebook page – Bromsgrovephotographicsociety
Despite the absence of our normal Tuesday night meeting, we had a busy week. On Wednesday we took part in an interclub meeting with Cwmbran PS, Baglan Bay PS (both from Wales) and Carluke PS from Scotland. This gave us a great opportunity to see the type of work being produced by societies from further afield, and also to present the work of some of our members. On Thursday we had the annual Five a Side competition hosted by Stourbridge PS. We had a very strong entry and finished a very creditable 3rd in a closely fought competition.
We are back to normal this week. At 7-00 pm we have an early session with the next episode of the Roger Lewis Foundation Course – organised by Rebekah Nash. This week will be co-presented by David Jellie and will cover preparing your images for printing – whether at home or by a commercial printer. We will look at image sizes, DPI and how to size your image to the right size of mount.
The main event on Tuesday at 8-00 pm will be our 4th PDI competition – Set Subject “Frames” for Colour and Mono Sections and also a Wildlife Section. The judge will be John Haines. The quality of the entries to competition from our members has continued to rise as the season progresses and I am looking forward to another night of keen competition.
See you all then
David
