Well, here I am again, reporting on a summer programme outing that featured dismal weather but still enjoyable despite the downpours for those of us that braved the rain.
I had not been to Wythall Transport Museum before – safe to say that if you like buses you’ll love it, if you hate buses you’ll hate it, and if you are pretty ambivalent about buses like me, you’ll take a while thinking “how can I make buses look interesting?” before settling down to take pictures of interesting details and reflections, strange rust textures, and trying to capture the feeling of a rainy day at a bus depot… I can’t speak for everyone that was there, but I found it quite enjoyable once I got over my “where’s the photograph here” creative block.
Next event on the summer program is on Saturday 22nd, at the Motocross (M5 junction 6). We visited last year and got some great action shots. If it’s as wet as the last two outings there might be some interesting mud shots too, or at least some interesting “grumpy motocross rider sheltering under an umbrella waiting for the rain to clear” shots. Then again, perhaps Jan and/or Steve are better at remembering to book fine weather for the BPS trips than Ele…
Hot on the heels of the motocross, there’s also an event pencilled in for Sunday 23rd, at Upton Warren. Beks will send out more details about time and meeting place nearer the time (weather dependent).
Thanks to Dug for circulating the combined list of BPS trips / other events going on for the rest of the summer. I hope to see you on one of the upcoming events soon!
