It’s been quite a busy week for the BPS summer programme, and lots of other stuff to talk about, so this might be a bit longer than usual.
The Chinese meal in Evesham last Tuesday was enjoyed by all that attended, as far as I can tell from the reports I have received – I’m sorry I could not join you but I hear the food, and the company, were both most enjoyable. Thanks to Dave Ward for organizing this
Then on Thursday, a dozen or so BPS members met up in Stourbridge for a walk along the canal side, followed by fish and chips – very tasty. Thanks to Ele for taking the lead on this one.
The next event is the BBQ, on Tuesday 13th, at Avoncroft Arts Centre. Watch out for emails on the day in case we need to cancel due to weather, but the forecast at the moment is looking good. As with previous years, BPS will provide the tables, chairs, grills, and cutlery, but it’s up to members to bring whatever food they want to grill, and whatever they want to drink. We’ll keep a separate grill for vegetarians. Should be a fun sociable evening if past years are anything to go by.
You should all have seen emails from Nick V and David J about the new competition software we are using next season – please register as soon as possible, so that any issues and questions can be answered before the season gets started. In particular, Nick, David and Guy will be at the BBQ to answer questions about Pixoroo and how it works, as well as demonstrating it in action.
You should also have seen an email from Ele about the tea rota. We are making some small changes to this process this season, so that members can sign up to the week of their choosing rather than having it allocated randomly – hopefully this should reduce the number of times that people find they are on holiday when it’s their turn for the rota. However it does rely on people signing up, otherwise we are going to have to revert to the previous system – so please add your names sooner rather than later.
Finally, remember the Bromsgrove High Street display on August 31st. I’ve not yet heard from anyone volunteering to help with it, so I’m hoping there will be a last minute rush or I’m going to have a very lonely day 🙁
That’s it for this week – hope to see you on Tuesday at the BBQ
Richard
