25.08.2024 Vocal Point

ust got back from a week in Scotland and the Lake District, so this Vocal Point is a little late while I try to catch up on all the BPS news.

From what I hear the Dine India meal on Tuesday was a great success as usual – many thanks to Beks for arranging it. With that, our summer programme of events has come to a close, and thoughts turn to the new season.

This coming Saturday we have the stall in Bromsgrove High Street – this is traditionally one of our main sources of new member interest, so it’s important to put on a good show. David and I will be setting up from around 10am, and we’ll be taking everything down around 4pm. Between those two times, any assistance from members in meeting and greeting interested passers-by and persuading them to join the club – or at least to pop along to see what it’s all about – will be gratefully received. I haven’t organized a formal rota – just turn up when/if you can, for an hour or two! Thanks to those that have already indicated they intend to be there. Our stand is outside Lloyds Bank – a great spot!

Then the Tuesday after that – September 3rd – we are back at Avoncroft Arts Centre for the first meeting of the season. This will be our “Open Evening” for potential new members to come along and check us out – I will provide more details on this in next week’s “Vocal Point” email.

I see David has put out a request for more prints for use in our upcoming displays – including at the High Street this Saturday, so if you would like your work to be included please get it to David ASAP.

I think that’s it for now, but my brain is still in holiday mode so I’ve probably forgotten something – look out for updates later in the day/week if so!

Hopefully see some of you on Saturday in the High Street.

Richard
