The first print competition of the season last Tuesday was a treat – some fantastic images on display and (I thought) a very good judge who gave just the right amount of feedback on each image. Congratulations to all those that won awards, and thanks to everyone that entered.
This coming Tuesday we also have a couple of great sessions to look forward to. For the early session we have our own inimitable Tony Gervis discussing what makes a good photograph. The main session promises to be a real treat, with Peter Jenkins FRAS talking about Astrophotography. If you want a sneak preview of the sort of things he photographs, take a look at his website at https://www.pjastro.co.uk . Astrophotography can be a really exciting and engrossing pastime, though it can be a bit intimidating to get started! Perhaps Peter will demystify it a bit for us.
Next weekend we should be exhibiting at the Creative Arts showcase at Bromsgrove School – I’m still trying to pin down details of exactly when and where, but as soon as I get them I will circulate them – volunteers to help man the stall are always welcome!
Next weekend there is also an opportunity to view the MCPF Panel Exhibition at Smethwick Photographic Society – see the email Sarah forwarded for more information.
I think that’s it for now
