A fantastic result for BPS in the competition on Tuesday night, with teams from Bromsgrove taking the top two places!
Seriously, congratulations to the "girls" team for a VERY strong performance in the annual "Boys vs Girls" competition. Looks like us Boys are going to have to seriously up our game to compete next year. Some great images from both teams, but with no fewer than seven of the Girls' images awarded the maximum 20 points, it's clear that the selectors (and of course the photographers) on that side of the hall did a fantastic job.
This week we have another fascinating presentation to look forward to from Steve Varman, a talented and highly regarded photographer with an impressive portfolio. Stealing shamelessly from Jan's previous email, this is what you have to look forward to:
"For nearly 15 years, Steve has been pushing creative boundaries across multiple genres of photography. His work has earned distinctions in prestigious competitions, including Finalist and Commended awards in the International Garden Photographer of the Year and recognition from Pink Lady Food Photographer of the Year. His images have even represented The Royal British Legion.
Beyond his own photography, Steve has played a key role in the Royal Photographic Society, contributing as an editor and designer for their publications. He has been a camera club lecturer and judge for several years, making him an excellent speaker for our group.
This promises to be a fantastic evening full of inspiration and insight into the creative process behind his award-winning images. I’d love to see as many of you there as possible to give Steve a warm welcome and make the most of this opportunity."
I'm really quite cross that I am going to miss it due to family commitments.
There is no early session this week. That's it for this newsletter...
